Maryland Musings

Great win in Piscataway yesterday. Chris Turner is the future at QB for the Terps, at least for the rest of the 2007 season. This team has the potential to do some big-time things, but it needs a confident qb, something that Jordan Steffy just doesn't look like at the moment.

Honestly, this win makes last week's loss to Wake Forest hurt a little bit more. 4-1, undefeated in the ACC, and ranked in the top 25 sounds a lot better than 3-2, 0-1 in conference, no votes, but we move on to a huge home game with Georgia Tech.

Should be a great autumn Saturday in College Park with the Yellow Jackets in town for a noon kickoff. The early morning tailgate will begin with most people still sleeping off the hangovers. Special guests are sure to make an appearance with the one and only Phil Elkins finally returning to Maryland for the weekend.

Don't forget about Blog Show on Tuesday!

ps - If you haven't already check out Steinz on the DTC, and make sure you read ALL the comments. Here's some more fuel for the fire.

Sunday FunDay!

How does every Sunday sound?

Sounds good to me.

Seeing as how Sunday's are basically a "research" day for me, I guess I can drag myself to the trusty laptop for a few moments.

So, what did we miss?

Redskins: I was hurting that day after the beinnings of my birthday celebration, but I have to say that I kinda liked some of what I saw. Let's reserve judgement for now.

Blog Show XXII

I see no coincidence whatsoever in the fact that XXII is also associated with the Redskins greatest moment, or do I?

Maryland: Not a bad effort, can't say I was too happy with some of the play calling, but I can also see why Fridge has a lack of confidence in his quarterback. Rough spot. Thanks for playing Josh! I truly believe this is a top 15 team with a more mobile, faster qb. This gave me a chuckle, even though it wasn't taken Thursday night in College Park.

I'm sure there are others that are obvious, but my head hurts already.

PLEASE NOTE: There will not be a Blog Show this week, but there will be an interesting Washington Post Live on Monday with Agent Bog joining us LIVE from Philadelphia while Mr I. is on set as a panelist. We also got Stan Kasten on Wednesday, should be great.

The Franchise, Fo Schizzle

Maybe I'm a just a sucker for people who do play-by-play for video games, but this kid makes me crack up.

Ladies and Gentleman, I give you, THE FRaNCHISE!

I predict he'll doing the play-by-play for the Army-Navy game by the year 2015. Book it. Don't believe me? Take a look and listen carefully.

My personal favorite.

Special Teams Baby!
33% of the game is special teams!
Other 33 is offense!
Other 33 is defense!
One percent...well, 0.1 percent, whatever the fuck it is!
It is muthaf#cker mental!

Eat your heart out Mike Tirico!

Apparently the kid has over 170 youtube videos like this. It's going to be a long night.

We'll Miss You Chuck Amato!

We're really going to miss former NC State Head Coach huck Amato here in ACC Country. He was always good for a laugh, as evidenced by the photo to the left. He had those kick ass red shoes that he forced his assistants to wear. He had a voice like a person who had smoked cigarettes since their day of birth. He also never seemed to get his players to reach their full potential, which benefitted everyone is the ACC, because the Wolfpack always seemed to have a talent-rich roster.

Most importantly, Chuckie never seemed to be able to keep his kids in control on the field. Don't believe me, watch this:

Something tells me that Tom O'Brien will not tolerate this type of stuff from his version of the Wuffies and that's really too bad.

Tip of the hat to the great dudes over at TerpTown for the heads up on this one!
