The Series

The 2007 edition of the World Series of Poker is off and running in Las Vegas. 55 events are on the dockett between now and July 17, including the World Championship Main Event. Although ESPN.com has extensive coverage of the entire series, the best online source for everything WSOP is Michael Craig's Poker Blog over at FullTilt. Not only is Craig a great writer, he is also a real poker player. He's using his own money to buy-into events and is blogging about his actual experiences in the WSOP.

Of course, with almost 3,000 people in the event, who is sitting to my right by John Juanda. At least he was on my right. After giving away some chips in an ill-defined attempt to outplay him, I was able to stay out of his way.

Any poker player will enjoy reading Craig's blog. He's able to mix his very entertaining personality into his writing, all while keeping an serious air of intelligence, kinda like this guy. He's the author of one of the better poker books of the 'Poker Boom' Generation, The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King - Inside the Richest Poker Game of All Time.

ESPN's television coverage of this year's World Series doesn't begin until July 10th, when the world-wide leader will air Event #1: World Championship Mixed Hold'Em (limit/no-limit). So, if you're looking for a place to follow the series that puts you right into the middle of the action, I highly recommend a daily read of the Poker Blog by Michael Craig.
